The Festival of the Dreta de L'Eixample neighborhood in Barcelona is imbued with modernism, and it could not be otherwise: modernism is a characteristic feature of the area's architecture. One of the most popular activities of this Festival is the Modernist Fair, which this year celebrates its sixteenth edition. This fair is already a prominent activity in Barcelona and every year it has more visitors.

As in most major festivals, a parade is organized with dancing giants, big heads, popular meals, sports competitions, children's workshops, concerts and dances, exhibitions, theater and cinema; all this, with the participation of entities, musical groups and other organizations of the district. The Festival of the Dreta de L'Eixample neighborhood has been organized since 2004.

The Modernist Fair

The fair takes place on Bruc Street, between Diagonal Avenue and Consell de Cent Street, and in the central lane of Diagonal Avenue, between Bruc Street and Girona Street. At the fair you can find objects, gastronomic products, dresses, music and decorative elements of the time. The specific program of the fair also includes demonstrations of ancient crafts, car exhibitions, children's games and guided routes, among other proposals.

About the 2024 edition

This year's Fair is dedicated to the playwright and poet Àngel Guimerà i Jorge (1845-1924), on the occasion of the year commemorating the 100th anniversary of his death. At Casa Elizalde, on May 21, the Modernist Fair will be presented with a conference by the specialist Ramon Bacardit. There will be an unprecedented dance and artistic expression show dedicated to Guimerà, as well as new additions to the modernist stops, including the presence of CHROMA, the Tibidabo amusement park, and the Acicac Foundation strong>. In addition, activities will be carried out such as the Clàssic Motor Club del Bages car parade, Llum i Color del 900, workshops, live music, and more. Visitors will also be able to enjoy crafts, workshops, demonstrations and modernist itineraries, as well as a restaurant area with live music and children's activities.
