Gran Price Vinyl Fest is a vinyl buying/selling fair that pays tribute to the disappeared (in 1973) Gran Price in the neighborhood of Sant Antoni, a venue that occupied the corner of Floridablanca and Casanova streets. The fair, which has always been held around Music Day, is promoted by the Gran Price Vinyl collective.
Since its conception, this fair has been intended to be more than just a place to buy new records. Thus, for example, in its 2018 edition and in coordination with the mythical Barcelona store Wah Wah Records, it organized an exhibition on Catalan progressive rock; and in the 2019 edition, the Barcelona label Discos Redondos presented there its second reference: Outsider, by Marco Boi Trio. A local jazz band that performed its presentation concert in the Absenta room.
At Gran Price Vinyl Fest you will be able to sell, buy or exchange originals, rarities, official reissues and new releases on vinyl, CD or any other media.
The 2024 edition of Gran Price Vinyl Fest
In this edition, the Gran Price vinyl Fest will last 3 days (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). They will once again be at the Fossat del Mercat de Sant Antoni, with the largest and most diverse selection of exhibitors ever. Coming from all over Catalonia, France and even the United States, there will be more than 20 exhibitors that will fill the historic space of the Sant Antoni neighborhood with thousands of vinyl records of all styles. You can find everything from hip hop to hardcore, soul, funk, indie, jazz, classic rock, techno, heavy, drum & bass, trip hop, cold wave, punk, sixties, progressive rock and much more.
DJ's vs. Dealers
An activity that has always been a hallmark of the fair is the one known as DJ's vs. Named after the boxing and wrestling matches that used to be organized at the old Price. The crux of the matter is that, throughout the weekend, the DJ's who liven up the atmosphere are invited to the fair without their precious suitcase of records. They are assigned a stop at the fair by lottery and have just one hour to prepare the session with what they can find there. A challenge that has allowed us to enjoy memorable sessions.
