Ciutat de Clàssica is the first festival organized by the three great musical institutions of Barcelona(Liceu, Palau de la Música Catalana and L'Auditori). The concerts are held in their halls, but also in many iconic venues in Barcelona.
The sixth edition of the Festival Ciutat de Clàssica brings to the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Palau de la Música Catalana and L'Auditori 18 concerts and operas by internationally renowned artists. In addition, we will be able to attend 23 free concerts performed by local talent in unique or unconventional places in Barcelona such as museums, libraries, civic centers and even historic buildings, such as Casa Batlló or the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion.
The most outstanding concerts
- Wagner's Lohengrin - March 24 at the Liceu Opera Barcelona. One of the most iconic operas of the Wagnerian repertoire, performed in one of the most prestigious theaters in Europe.
- musicAeterna & Teodor Currentzis - March 24 at L'Auditori. Teodor Currentzis is one of today's most innovative conductors, and his musicAeterna orchestra stands out for its interpretative intensity.
- Yulianna Avdeeva, piano - March 27 at the Palau de la Música Catalana. Winner of the 2010 Chopin Competition, she is one of the most respected pianists of the moment.
- Sílvia Pérez Cruz, OBC & Ludovic Morlot - March 28th and 29th at L'Auditori. With the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, this collaboration between Pérez Cruz and Morlot promises to be an exciting fusion of classical and contemporary music.
- Miloš Karadaglić & Orquestra Da Camera - March 31 at the Palau de la Música Catalana. Miloš is one of the world's most acclaimed classical guitarists and his recital on this iconic stage will be one of the jewels of the festival.
- Serena Sáenz & Pablo Sainz-Villegas - April 3 at the Palau de la Música Catalana. A recital that brings together two of the most brilliant Spanish performers of the moment in the field of opera and guitar.
Ciutat de Clàssica is a different way to experience Barcelona's interesting classical music scene.
