L'Illa Diagonal

The building where the L'Illa Diagonal shopping center is located, opened in 1993, was designed by architects Rafael Moneo and Manuel de Solà Morales. For this creation, they won several professional awards such as the 1994 FAD Architecture Award. Inspired by the Rockefeller Center in New York, it is considered a horizontal or lying skyscraper (its facade is 334 meters long). Inside, it houses more than 170 stores and restaurants that total an area of ​​35,000 m2, and offices, which occupy 48,000 m2. But that's not all, L'illa Diagonal includes in its premises two four-star hotels, a sports center, two schools, a disco and concert hall, a convention center, a public park of 13,500 m2, and a car park with 2,400 parking spaces.
