In 1960 students of the 85th class at the Escuela Superior de Arquitectura asked a selection of artists and architects to donate an original work in order to create an art collection which they could then use to finance an architectural trip around the world. The result, currently gathered at the Historical Archive of the College of Architects of Catalunya, is an extensive collection of works by 144 artists from 22 countries: Joan Miró, Modest Cuixart, Antonio Saura, Walter Gropius, Otto Dix and more.
Victòria Combalia, critic and curator of the exhibition, suggests that this collection is a representation of abstraction of the 60s: from surrealism to informalismo also, of course, the happy culmination of a youthful dream.
