The Gandules edition of 2019 focuses on parallel universes, time travel or abolition of rational order. This year's cycle, curated by the film critic Jordi Costa, is inspired by the "Quantum" exhibition of the CCCB. And it is that the concepts derived from the third great revolution in the history of cosmology have infiltrated the field of popular culture, inspiring the creation of new imaginaries in fantasy genre fiction, and putting in crisis the traditional conception of all story model. The revelations of quantum physics lead us to think of bifurcations and multiplicities, in parallel realities and unstable identities, connecting with some radical expositions of a philosophy of postmodernity that detected the expiration of the great unitary narratives. Those stories that had served to the human being to understand itself and to orient itself in front of the imposing enigmas of the real thing.
In this edition of Gandules, 9 films will be screened
This August, the CCCB's summer cinema proposes nine films in which concepts derived from the quantum revolution have inspired the creation of new imaginaries.
