Graphic Constellation, young Women Authors of Avant-garde Comics shows us the creative universes of Bàrbara Alca, Marta Cartu, Ana Galvañ, Genie Espinosa, Nadia Hafid, Conxita Herrero, María Medem, Miriampersand and Roberta Vázquez. In their work, the nine creators deal, with a critical eye and humor, with issues of the millennial reality such as economic and labor precariousness, the disappearance of stability, the relationship with technology, sorority or relationships on the Internet.
The exhibition, curated by editor Montserrat Terrones, exhibits comics in an innovative way, letting comics and book characters fill the exhibition space in nine installations that the artists have created expressly for this occasion.
"Graphic Constellation" presents the comics and the diversity of languages, aesthetic registers and cultural references of these creators who, through the use of color, graphics or stylistic and narrative experimentation, have questioned canonical forms of comics.
In the exhibition we will immerse ourselves in their imaginary through the installations that they themselves have created for the rooms of the CCCB: we can "match" with the monsters of the dating application Cringer by Bárbara Alca, play with the comic characters of Roberta Vázquez or cross a dimensional door designed by Miriampersand. The exhibition also explains how a network of self-publishing fairs, small publishing houses and printers have made possible the consolidation of an alternative scene in which these artists move and train.
Sunday from 15:00 to 20:00 h free with previous reservation.
