Festival

The Influencers is a festival of anomalous creative projects that combines art, politics, technology and new electronic popular cultures. The festival explores the territories of a wired planet, new forms of resistance to the control of algorithms and other mutations of cultures and digital subcultures. And it does it from contemporary art, non-commercial design, critical technology and experimental activism.

The 15th edition of The Influencers (2019)

The festival is immersed this year in the political and aesthetic ambiguities of the technological society that watches, quantifies, predicts and controls. The objective is to propose languages and narratives that can express in a diaphanous, unpublished and controversial way, the most opaque and problematic aspects of the connected society. The 2019 edition continues and expands the research work of the last two editions, deepening the non-Anglo-Saxon visions of technology, broadening gender perspectives and realizing the most invisible facet of technology: politics. In the talks, conferences, workshops and projections, topics such as facial recognition, digital persuasion systems and memetic propaganda, and the emergence of technologies such as Blockchain, among others, will be explored. In the four workshops, which require prior registration, The Influencers will be attended by Shu Lea Cheang, Monira Al Qadiri, Ming Lin and Alexandra Tatarsky (Shanzhai Lyric), DIS, Clusterduck, Mitra Azar, Adam Harvey, Jaromil and Olia Lialina.

The New Networked Normal (NNN)

This event is part of the project The New Networked Normal (NNN), a European network on technology, art, and social change, which is also part of the Transmediale festival (Berlin), the electronic culture festival STRP (Eindhoven), Abandon Normal Devices (Manchester) and The Influencers and the CCCB.
