With Intrusive Dialogues, the MNAC has initiated a collaboration program with the Suñol Foundation, to enrich the reading of the works in this important collection in the context of the historical collections of the National Museum. This collaboration is part of a broader program of strategic alliances of the MNAC with various cultural entities; the objective: to present to the public and reflect on postwar art and the second avant-garde. The irruption of the art of the second avant-garde after the Spanish Civil War and World War II, represents a logical extension of the museum's chronology and the appearance of a series of works that, due to their modernity and transgressive spirit, question the ways of looking and the conception of a work of art. Intrusive Dialogues inserts in the museum rooms a selection of nineteen works from the Suñol Foundation belonging to the second avant-gardes. These works establish a dialogue, through analogy or contrast, with historical works of medieval, Renaissance, Baroque or Modernist art, establishing stimulating and suggestive relationships.
All works will have a specific presentation, expanded textual information and a drop-down map of the location of the pieces.
With the entrance fee you can also visit the permanent collection of the MNAC.
