Antonio Najarro puts an end at the Gran Teatre del Liceu to his stage at the head of the National Ballet of Spain with two of his greatest hits: "Zaguán" and "Alento". It has been 8 years of tireless work that has meant an aesthetic and style change for the company. The Maestro Manuel Cuevas will lead the Vallés Symphony Orchestra.
Several Spanish theaters, as well as France and Japan, have received with great success the proposal of the National Ballet of Spain: a mixture of flamenco with tango and jazz in a fascinating fusion for sight and hearing. Loyalty to tradition, but also risk to open new paths in a show with which the National Ballet of Spain returns to the Liceu after the success of "Sorolla" in 2015.
Zagúan
In "Zaguan" we can see Mercedes Ruiz, La Lupi and Marco Flores, who show us their vocabulary, their style and their personal seal as creators. Also to Blanca del Rey, one of the great flamenco ladies, who has left in this Ballet her emblematic choreography "Soleá del Mantón". The music has been composed by flamenco guitarist Jesús Torres; the play has been done by David Picazo; and designer Yaiza Pinillos has created an elaborate costume of the time.
Alento
"Alento" is a total reflection of Najarro's style as creator and of his vision of Spanish classical dance. Inspired by the score of the great composer, guitarist and companion Fernando Egozcue, who has created a very rhythmic and sensitive music. "Alento" features the exquisite designs of Teresa Helbig (ACME) and the lighting of Nicolás Fischtel.
