The Plaza de Catalunya, in the heart of Barcelona, becomes as usual in recent years, a stage where there will be activities for all ages. There will be family proposals, concerts, street arts and shows. In the Plaza de la Universitat you will be able to see a large interactive installation created by the Sónar festival.

Analema

Sónar, on its 30th anniversary, presents an interactive audiovisual installation based on the annual journey of the Sun and the winter solstice. The citizens, through their movements, generate an urban choreography that culminates each night in a majestic tower of light. With the analemma of the Sun as inspiration, this unique experience combines digital arts, immersive sound and an alliance between Sónar, Glassworks and the Barcelona Festival de Nadal.

SuperVeloz Christmas (from 5 years old)

A tribute to the modular printing typography created in Barcelona in 1942 by the printer and typographer Joan Trochut, called SuperVeloz.

Landscapes, play space (3 to 5 years old)

An artistic and playful space, a quiet oasis with paper tape as a unifying element to encourage encounters and creative explorations of the body and space, generating intimate and playful landscapes.

Capgrossada (from 4 years)

It starts with a paper bag, using imagination, scissors, holes and decorations to create festive bigheads. The result is a lively celebration that turns the square into a Christmas forest inhabited by fantastic animals...

The memory machine (from 6 years)

The construction of memories involves imagining something lasting, writing it forcefully on a typewriter and storing it in an envelope, with the commitment not to open it until many years later.

Fanzinoteca (from 7 years old)

An amateur magazine that allows full creative freedom with drawings, writing, pasting, design and clippings. A space where everything fits, from dinosaurs and comic book characters to soccer goals or dance steps.

Days and hours: every day except December 18, 19, 20, 21, 25 and 26. From 11:00 to 13:00 h.

Face-o-mat, an analogical photo booth (from 1 year old)

An amateur magazine that allows full creative freedom with drawings, writing, pasting, design and cut-outs. A space where everything fits, from dinosaurs and comic book characters to soccer goals or dance steps.

Nerea López and Patrícia Peix, although not sisters, have a twin connection. They fuse styles and musical genres of the nineties and 2000, oscillating between dark and luminous moments, creating a space to discover hidden musics that arise in their presence...

Reggae per xics: "Christmas on board".

Celebrate Christmas with the family aboard the Calypso ship, immersed in an ocean sailing experience inspired by Jules Verne, Hergé and Jacques Cousteau. Discover the dangers and marine biodiversity while enjoying Jamaican rhythms and Christmas songs performed by ten musicians on stage.

Miqui Puig DJ

Enjoy daily afternoon sessions with a passionate musical selection ranging from nostalgic soundtracks of winters past to the latest offerings, all with a focus on soul culture and positive dance floor energy.

The Gramophone Allstars Big Band: "It's Christmas, Call Your Friends!"

Seventeen musicians join in a Christmas celebration in the square, with guests and friends to create a festive atmosphere. This historic formation from Barcelona, since 2008, tirelessly pursues soulful sonority, jazz and Jamaican rhythms such as ska, bugalú and calypso. During twelve days, they offer opportunities to enjoy their live music, bringing warmth to the square against the winter cold, from Stevie Wonder to Kingston, Amy Winehouse, New Orleans and more...

Mazoni

In commemoration of its tenth anniversary, LaSala, a leading Basque contemporary dance company, presents three of its most emblematic street choreographic pieces at the Barcelona Christmas Festival. With a fresh, contemporary language and impeccable technique, LaSala addresses themes such as human struggle, freedom of choice and the search for light in a world of shadows through its works "Fight", "Alive" and "Iu".

Days and times: December 16. From 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Tarquim

His fascination with Cuban music, jazz, soul and reggae is reflected in his ability to interpret danzón, descarga, chachachá, guaguancó and bolero with elegance and erudition.

Days and times: December 17 and 22. From 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Sophie Wells

After leading swing and jazz bands, the Peruvian-American singer and songwriter launched her solo career in 2021. Her songs explore personal search, emotional release and the duality between absence and desire, offering warmth, elegance and sophistication on two winter nights.

Days and times: December 18 and 19. From 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Alba Armengou Quintet

A young composer, trumpeter, saxophonist and singer, trained in the Sant Andreu Jazz Band and the ESMUC, will present her first work together with the outstanding young talent of the national jazz scene. Her performance promises a musical journey that will include jazz, bolero, Catalan song, Brazilian music and Latin American folk.

Days and times: December 20 and 21. From 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Dani Nel-lo & Organ Trio

Dani Nel-lo, renowned saxophonist, composer and rocker, pays tribute to the formations of the fifties with an organ trio, fusing saxophone and organ to create a contemporary and personal sound. His music, wild and intimate, reflects the passion for groove and action, without being neither versions nor revivals, but a current expression rooted in the musical blood.

Days and times: December 23 and 27. From 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Magalí Datzira

Double bassist, singer and composer from Barcelona, this artist immerses herself in a variety of styles, from jazz to funk, electronic pop, urban music and intimate vocal expressions, showing a free and chameleonic spirit that follows its own path.

Days and times: December 24 and 25. From 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

La Maria

A young musician from Oliva, Valencia, impresses with her powerful, brutal and hypnotic debut work, fusing organic and electronic sounds in a unique exploration of tradition, roots and memory, standing out among references such as Björk and Miquel Gil.

Days and times: December 26th. From 19:00 to 20:00 h.

Núria Graham

A musical fable that explores premonitory dreams and a deep connection with nature, guided by the singer, instrumentalist and composer who has ceased to be emerging to become a key piece of indie and folk, presenting a staging with piano, strings, bassoon, harp, flute, saxophones and double bass, all unified by her unique voice. A fragile but powerful musical journey.

Fight - Alive - IU

Lignes de vie

French choreographer Antoine Le Menestrel, an expert climber, brings his skills to Christmas festivals, scaling facades, lampposts and rooftops. Together with five parkour dancers, they offer a unique expression of freedom and mastery of the body at urban heights, exploring architecture and public space without vertigo.

Days and times: December 22 and 23. From 17:00 to 18:00 h

Molar

A dance solo, between performance and dramaturgy, explores happiness in its canonical and stereotyped constructions. The piece reflects on how to mold and express through the body and dance, promoting a ritual contagion that has been acclaimed in national and international festivals.

Days and times: December 24 and 27. From 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Oblivion

Young choreographer and company of five dancers present "Oblivion", a winning piece of the Dance Award of the Theatre Institute in 2020 and nominated for two Max awards in 2023. This circular, tantric and repetitive dance invites the audience to immerse themselves in an aesthetic gift, close their eyes and let themselves be carried away by simplicity, beauty and technique.

Christmas meals are opportunities to share stories, laughter and even discussions, celebrating existence and connecting the present, past and future at every table. Despite a certain universalism, the question arises: what should a Christmas meal be like without conventions or stereotypes? The answer is only discovered by trying to gather around a table and see if something different can happen, challenging expectations and creating new traditions.
