My First Festival is an international film festival for children between the ages of 2 and 12. It presents unique, unreleased films from all over the world in a program consisting of short and feature film sessions and complementary activities for families, schools and professionals.
In this 16th edition, we will be able to enjoy 21 sessions in Barcelona, distributed among the Filmoteca de Catalunya, the CCCB, Mooby Bosque, the French Institute, Cines Verdi, Cines Verdi Park, Cines Girona and the Sant Martí Auditorium.
The 2024 edition
From November 9 to 24, My First Festival returns to Barcelona with a great selection of feature and short films from different countries and for all tastes. At the opening session we will be able to see the film Salvajes (Sauvages), previously unreleased in our city. A stop-motion animation film by director Claude Barras (The Life of Zucchini), which tells the story of two cousins who fight to save a forest in Borneo while caring for a baby orangutan. For those who enjoy experimental animated films, Flow is the film not to miss. Flow explores the theme of friendship in a post-apocalyptic world through the eyes of a cat. Another of the outstanding titles in the official section is Kensuke's Kingdom, which tells the adventures of a boy and his dog on a remote island after a storm. The youngest members of the family can enjoy Zorro and Hare Save the Forest, an adventure story, and pre-teens can enjoy Living Large, a comedy that deals with the challenges of puberty and self-acceptance.
This year, the festival will also pay tribute to Lupus Films, a leading London studio renowned for its film adaptations of classic literary works that have won numerous major awards and captivated millions of viewers around the world.
