There are two Christmas periods, the liturgical officer and the municipal or commercial one. The first begins on December 25 and ends on the first Sunday of January after the Epiphany (January 6). The second is started by the person in charge of the switch that lights the Christmas lights of each city. In Barcelona he pressed the button on November 23 to light them (this year in La Rambla, as a tribute to the victims of the attack on August 17) and will press it again on January 6, at dawn, to turn them off. So we are already within the commercial Christmas period that we would like to help the merchants raise the rate of their low sales, and close to the liturgical Christmas that is briefly interrupted with the secular celebration of the New Year's Eve.
And here activities for the two Christmas periods. With many events for the little ones, concerts in churches and emblematic concert halls of Barcelona, markets, dance, festivals ... and free events.
And remember, if you come by car to Barcelona this Christmas, book your parking space in advance and enjoy your stay with peace of mind. Now sure you find a parking lot near your hotel, apartment or B&B. With our new partner, Parkimeter, we increased the number of car parks in Barcelona considerably.
Merry Chistmas!
