Chris Ware, master of comics

Chris Ware is considered a master of the comic strip. The Omaha native has taken this form of storytelling to an unprecedented level, endowing it with a formal and narrative richness that has been compared to the literary innovations of James Joyce. His mastery of visual language allows him to construct complex narratives, where time unfolds in multiple directions and each vignette is a meticulously crafted piece of gear. The exhibition at the CCCB offers a journey through the evolution of his work, presenting originals, animations, objects and sculptural pieces.
