The Vall d'Hebron Barcelona Hospital Campus, better known as the Vall d'Hebron Hospital, is a hospital center with a world-wide reference in care, research, teaching and innovation, made up of four entities: the Vall d'Hebron University Hospital (which it is composed of four specialized centers: the General Hospital, the Children's Hospital, the Women's Hospital and the Traumatology, Rehabilitation and Burned Hospital); the Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR); the Vall d'Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO); and the Multiple Sclerosis Center of Catalonia (Cemcat).

Vall d'Hebron General Hospital is the largest hospital in Catalonia and includes all medical specialties and most of the surgical specialties of adults (especially those of maximum complexity and severity). In this center is also the first specific day hospital of hematology in Spain.

One of the areas in which this hospital located in the district of Horta - Guinardó stands out are adult and pediatric organ and tissue transplants. It is also a pioneer in the creation of the figure of the transplant coordinator, which facilitates the transition and integration of pediatric patients to adults. Oncology care is another important area of ​​care (they are the center that attends to more cases in Catalonia), which is based on clinical and basic research carried out in the same hospital campus.

This hospital center has three emergency services corresponding to the three main hospitals: a general emergency service for adults in the General Hospital (the largest, clay-colored building), another for pediatric emergencies, obstetrics and gynecology located in the Children's and Women's Hospital (the white octagonal building), and another emergency service for emergencies related to the locomotor system and burns, located at the Traumatology, Rehabilitation and Burns Hospital (building behind the General Hospital).
