The cult film "The Room" (2003), known as the "Citizen Kane" of bad movies, will celebrate its 20th anniversary in Spain with special screenings on September 22 and 23 at 7:00 p.m. The screenings will take place at the Cinema Maldà in Barcelona and at the mk2 Palacio de Hielo cinema in Madrid. These sessions are jointly organized by the B-Retina and CutreCon festivals, and will be attended by American actor Greg Sestero , who co-stars in the film and author of the book "The Disaster Artist".
"The Room" has been mocked and criticized, turning it into an unintended comedy and spawning a worldwide phenomenon with fans gathering in crowded screenings to jeer the film.
In addition to the screening of "The Room", the film "Miracle Valley", directed by Greg Sestero, who also writes and stars in the film, will be presented for the first time in Spain. It is a mystery horror thriller set in the desert.
Greg Sestero, born on July 15, 1978 in Walnut Creek, United States, is known for his role in "The Room." After the repercussion that the film had, he wrote the book "The Disaster Artist" together with the journalist Tom Bissell, which recounts the filming of the film and his friendship with Tommy Wiseau. The book was adapted to the cinema by James Franco, who also directed and starred in the film "The Disaster Artist", winner of the Golden Shell at the San Sebastián Festival and nominated for an Oscar for best adapted screenplay.
