A selection of the fonds of the Fundació Antoni Tapies and some loans from private collections that focuses on the decade that turned Antoni Tapies in an artist of international renown.
Between 1954 and 1955 the work of Antoni Tàpies experienced a change driven by previous experiences and influences, which marked the beginning of the maturity of his art. The interest in the expression of certain materials, as manifested in the 40s, led to works that had the appearance of a wall, characterized by the density of the textures and the use of a limited range of colors with gray, brown and ocher as protagonists.
The exhibition is completed with the screening of the documentary Tàpies (1969), Clovis Prévost.
