Antoni Tàpies felt identified with objects: banal, used and of little value. The artist did not intend, like the surrealist decades ago, to establish hidden connections between the conscious and the unconscious, he wanted to present anodyne but authentic objects. This work with objects, however, coincides with the increase of its political commitment. Instead of conceiving a public policy, impracticable under the dictatorship, Tàpies relied on the territory of intimacy. This exhibition in Tàpies Foundation is completed with notes of Joan Brossa, written to her companion, scattered among the objects of Tàpies.
