The Barcelona Cultural District is a stable circuit of free professional shows that takes place in local cultural facilities (mainly civic centers) of the ten districts of Barcelona. The shows are of high quality, some signed by renowned artists who have performed on stages in half of Europe, and others by young talents.
New commitment of the Barcelona Cultural District (BDC)
The Barcelona Cultural District expands its programming this fall, incorporating free proposals for visual arts, cinema and talks. In addition to its traditional music, theater, circus and dance shows, the BDC now groups its offerings into four areas: Argumenta, Escena, Pantalla and Temporals.
Escena: 16th performing arts edition
Escena is the performing arts circuit that includes theater, circus, dance and music. This 16th edition, which starts on October 9 and ends before Christmas, covers 33 venues with shows for all types of audiences, selected by programmers and experts.
Screen: Film Circuit
October 18 marks the start of the 13th edition of the Pantalla circuit, with local and international films. The Petit Cineclub, a selection of animated films aimed at children from 2 to 10 years old, is also introduced, expanding the offer to six proposals.
Argumenta: Thought and reflection
From October 2024 to March 2025, the Argumenta program will offer eleven talks on the concept of "emergence". This cycle of thought includes the participation of local agents and promotes interaction with the public in each session.
Temporals: Visual art in the neighborhoods
Born to bring contemporary art to the neighborhoods, the Temporals program celebrates its third edition. Projects selected through annual calls will offer exhibitions and participatory activities, with the aim of creating a direct link between artists and the public.
