Tablao Flamenco Cordobes de Barcelona pays homage to Carmen Amaya, one of the most important personalities of flamenco dance.

This gypsy, born in the gypsy neighborhood of Somorrostro in Barcelona, the daughter of a bailaora and a guitarist ('La Faraona' and 'el Chino'), began her professional tour in the sailor taverns of Barcelona and reached the White House Offering a show to President Roosevelt.

Iconoclastic and self-taught, he broke all the molds turning his dance into a metaphor for rebellion. With an electrifying rhythm, she was ahead of his time in all areas of flamenco, including costumes.
