The Christmas Concerts program of the Barcelona Municipal Conservatory promises a wide range of musical diversity. For almost two weeks (from December 9 to 20), the conservatory's halls and some external spaces will host auditions and concerts ranging from individual performances to large-scale ensembles.
An instrumental journey: from the piano to the accordion
The piano, the undisputed protagonist of the event, is presented in multiple auditions distributed almost daily. In addition, less conventional instruments such as the accordion (12/18) and the organ (12/18) broaden the sound spectrum, offering an experience that combines the classical and the singular.
Guitar (12/18, 12/20), harpsichord (12/18, 12/20) and harp (12/19) performances highlight the beauty of plucked string instruments, while percussion auditions (12/11) and the saxophone ensemble (12/19) add a rhythmic and modern touch to the offerings.
The richness of ensemble work
Chamber concerts (12/13, 12/18) and orchestral ensemble auditions highlight the value of teamwork and the connection between performers. The String Orchestra (9/12), the Flute Orchestra (18/12), and the culminating performance of the Symphony Orchestra (18/12) in the Eduard Toldrà Auditorium are key moments for those seeking an immersive classical music experience.
Highlights and online access
The emblematic Eduard Toldrà Auditorium hosts a large part of the most significant concerts, consolidating itself as an epicenter of the programming. In addition, some performances will be available online, bringing the conservatory's Christmas spirit to a wider audience.
All concerts are free admission and without prior reservation.
