A box hidden for more than seventy years inside which hundreds of unpublished images of the Spanish Civil War were hidden. The box, known today as "the red box", was discovered by chance by the family of photographer Antoni Campañà (Arbúcies, 1906-Sant Cugat del Vallès, 1989), and a large number of these photographs are exhibited in this exhibition that had never been positive by the author and that have great historical relevance and high artistic quality. In the exhibition you will also be able to see photographs from his pictorialist era, which made him one of the most awarded pictorialist photographers in the world, and from his post-war period which meant a traumatic adaptation for Antoni Campañà as he devoted himself to subjects such as sports. , the landscapes or scenes of modernity. Seen in its entirety, Campañà's work spans the 20th century in its complexity and its contradictions. The exhibition discovers a tireless artist who tried to reach all angles of the world of photography.
