Local agriculture comes to Poble Espanyol for you to enjoy Gastrofest KM0, a gastronomic festival known for its commitment to local products. Ten carefully chosen restaurants will offer you 20 dishes made with indigenous ingredients, such as El Prat's Artichoke and Pota Blava chicken, Gavà's calçots and pumpkins, or the Ebro Delta eel.
Restaurants will compete for the best dish award prepared with fresh local products, judged by an expert panel. But that's not all, as one of Catalonia's most emblematic gastronomic events, the calçotada, will also be part of the festival. To complement the gastronomic experience, each dish will be paired with a different San Miguel beer, and there will also be contests, a producers' market, DJ sessions, and live music, filling the event with rumba, indie, funk, reggae, and soul.
The festival program includes the Cooking Classroom with showcookings by prestigious chefs such as Hermanos Torres, Mónica Escudero, Susana Aragón, Eva Hausmann, Ada Parellada, Carlos Novo, and Eric Ochoa. Additionally, there will be workshops for tasting San Miguel beers and contests like beer pouring, eating calçots, or drinking beer with a porrón. The festival also organizes talks on the present and future of local products with farmers, chefs, activists, and journalists, as well as events like the Març Gastronòmic presented by Carme Ruscalleda and the Slow Food Guide 2024 by Daniele Rossi and Carles Pérez de Rozas. Other highlights include the MEG (Women in Gastronomy) gathering, "Esmorzar amb pagès" (Breakfast with a farmer), and children's activities and street art, all framed within the context of local products.
General admission costs €5.00 and includes one drink. The calçotada menu is priced at €22.50, and individual dishes range from €5.00 to €10.00.
