Independent Label Market

Fourth edition in Barcelona of the Independent Label Market that began its journey in Berwick Street of London's Soho. Since then he has gathered, to sell his vinyl directly to the public and with the traditional formula of the position in a market, to the founders of more than 180 of the largest independent record labels in the world on both sides of the Atlantic.

As the music industry focuses on mp3 and digital strategies, Independent Label Market is showing, edition after edition, how music retail can have a social value by making the purchase of music into something community and away from the solitude of the download

One of the highlights of the ILM is its OFF agenda of events with programming of DJ's and bands of some of the participating labels that will perform at the club circuit in Barcelona.

News from the 2019 edition

In the edition of this year there will be more than 40 record companies and a previous activity will be offered on Friday, April 5. Under the title of "Independent music business development" and thanks to the collaboration of Klipsch (one of the oldest sponsors of this record market), they have organized a talk (FNAC Triangle, 7pm) with some of the labels of the current market: Joe Daniel -Director and founder of ILM London-, Ruby Savage -Brownswood Recordings label manager-, and Alex Kerr -Ninja Tune-. Another novelty comes from the publication Record Magazine, which this year will have a stand at the fair, in which attendees can buy the magazine and become subscribers.

Participating labels

Among the internationally renowned labels participating in this year's edition of the Independent Label Market are City Slang, Domino, Caroline or Ninja Tune, Brownswood Recordings, On The Corner Records, Hidden Tracks Records and Architects Records. Among the local labels of international reference will be La Castanya, BCore, Adarce Records, Guerssen, Wah Wah and La Vendición, among others.

And as always...

... there will be a second-hand section, acoustic concerts, foodtrucks, vermouth bar, beers, soft drinks and Jägermeister cocktails.
