Loop Barcelona, the image in motion

Loop is a platform dedicated to the study and promotion of the moving image that was created in 2003. Since its inception, it has offered a careful selection of content related to video from innovative perspectives. It develops projects with an international community of artists, curators, gallerists, collectors and directors of institutions, with the aim of exploring the possibilities of video and film in the discourses of contemporary art today.

The activities, both paid and free, are spread throughout the city in museums, foundations, temporary exhibition centers, libraries and other spaces.

Loop Barcelona is divided into four main sections:

• LOOP Fair (November 19-21): a selection of films and videos by contemporary artists presented by international galleries and collectors. The LOOP Fair is the first fair dedicated exclusively to artists working with video, film and new media associated with digital production.
• Loop Festival (November 13-23): exhibitions, screenings and live performances throughout Barcelona related to the creation of the moving image.
• Loop Symposium (November 20-21): a two-day symposium dedicated to a specific theme, this year's theme will be artist's cinema.
• Loop Studies: talks, workshops and professional meetings to promote the recognition of video and film.
