Two key figures of twentieth century art, Picasso and Dali, did they really go separate ways? The history has treated them as isolated artists, mythical, with individuel styles and even politically opposed. The reality is different, and that is the thesis of this exhibition. The paths of Picasso and Dali often intertwined: Picasso helped Dalí in the early years of his career and after the Civil War, Dalí presented his own work as a tribute to Picasso. But the surrealism , the horror of the Spanish Civil War and the commitment for the art of the past in general and Velázquez paintings in particular united them.
The exhibition presents works of both artists - paintings, drawings, prints and sculptures - and documents from more than 25 museums of art and private collections around the world, most of them are rarely provided , giving an important value to this exhibition.
