This exhibition, curated by Jordi Tolosa, is an approach to the concept of silence from the point of view of several artists. The exhibition is structured in several sections that express the idea of silence from the natural, constructed and conceptual spaces.
Physical spaces. Silence as emptiness
Silence from a physical aspect The "decibel" as a sound unit. That "cut" between sound and no sound. Between sound and silence. The minimum sound audition, as a minimum concept and also as a poetic image.
Observatories of landscapes. The silence of nature
The space - territory - versus the individual. The contemplation of the landscape without the presence of the human being. The power of the vacuum as a generator. Perceiving absence is a way of analyzing it.
Freezing time. Silence
The photograph, which captures the moment. "Portraits" of deaf architectures or stones floating in time.
Culture
Language and silence as the backbone of thought, culture and art.
Silence as death
The emptiness, the absence and the loss. Silence as an element of beginning and end.
