Inaugural exhibition of the Palau Martorell dedicated to one of the most important Spanish artists in the world, Joaquín Sorolla. "Sorolla. Hunting Impressions" is curated by Blanca Pons-Sorolla, great-granddaughter of the artist and expert in his work, and María López of the Sorolla Museum. The exhibition will bring the viewer closer to the creative universe of the Valencian painter from a new perspective.
During the tour, the visitor will be able to contemplate 193 small-format oil paintings on board, cardboard, paper or pieces of canvas that often capture everyday scenes of his family, sketches of a newly discovered place or are a sketch of works that Sorolla planned to make. The exhibition includes pieces ranging from his early formative years to his prime as a great and globally recognized artist.
Sorolla. Hunting Impressions is organized by the Palau Martorell in collaboration with the Sorolla Museum and the Sorolla Museum Foundation.
The Palau Martorell will regularly host major exhibitions of both international collections and art history references.
