Within the FESTIVAL DOCFIELD>15:Tomas Van Houtryve - BLUE SKY DAYS. In October 2012 a drone killed a woman of 67 years picking okra outside her home in Pakistan. At a briefing held in Washington DC in 2013, the 13 years old grandson of the old woman, Zubair Rehman, who was also injured during the attack, spoke to a group of five lawmakers. "I do not like blue skies," he said. "In fact, now I prefer the gray skies. The drones do not fly when the sky is gray. " With his camera in a small drone, Van Houtryve traveled through the USA to photograph these events that have become the target of aerial drone attacks: weddings, funerals and groups of people who pray or exercise. He also overflew with his camera settings where drones are used for less lethal reasons: oil fields, prisons or the border between the US and Mexico. Images taken from the perspective of drone strike up a conversation about the changing nature of our concept of security, privacy and war. This project has received a wide international support.
