Gala Salvador Dalí is the first international exhibition dedicated to Gala, muse and artist who lived and worked with Dalí. Elena Ivánovna Diákonova, Gala, is also considered a key figure of the avant-garde of the twentieth century. This exhibition, curated by Estrella de Diego, shows the changes in the image of Gala through its different performances, reflected by Salvador Dalí's brushes; and also allows to know the evolution of the painter thanks to an important set of paintings and drawings. In this exhibition you can see 315 works (paintings, drawings, photographs and documents related to Gala, including handwritten sheets of his autobiographical project), and an interesting set of letters, postcards and books that is exhibited for the first time, as well as dresses and personal objects of Gala.
The Fiesta Mayor del Raval will start on Thursday the 12th with the traditional afternoon of the opening speech and the parades of the Choral Societies and the Giants and Bigheads of Raval. These parties in the most bohemian and multicultural quarter of Barcelona offer attendees concerts, parades, an athletic race, curious activities such as Puti-vermouth of the alternative Festa, dances, open-air cinema, popular meals, artistic installations and children's workshops. The Rambla del Raval is one of the nerve centers of the festival, with numerous activities during the day and night.
The Gandules edition of 2018 focuses on magic, lysergy and the occult: three ways of enlightenment and celebration in an increasingly dark present for the individual. The first three sessions will revolve around magic and ghostly, wanting to recover the initial spirit of cinema as a magical event, but also as an ideal territory to represent a supernatural world. The next version of the concept of enlightenment is mental enlightenment, with the help of natural and chemical substances, man has sought throughout history to enter altered states of consciousness to seek answers. After the induced illuminations, the lysergy, the cycle of Gandules 2018 makes a call to spiritual enlightenment, which derives from the coexistence with currents of the vast field of mysticism and the occult.
Once again in the Parc del Fòrum, the DGTL is organized in four stages where more than 40 artists will spend. And as in the last edition, will be present the innovative design and art installations of the DGTL Art section. In addition, the program will be expanded with the DGTL Revolution sustainability proposal, which aims to create a completely waste-free festival. Among the most outstanding artists are Adriatique, Amelie Lens, Apollonia, Ben Clock, Black Coffee, Carl Craig & Cassy, Dixon, DJ Koze, DJ Tennis, Jamie Jones, Maceo Plex, Honey Dijon, Fatima Yamaha, KINK, Mind Against, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Oscar Mulero, Solomun, Rødhåd and Hot Since 82.
