Festival del Mil·lenni
This year's edition begins on December 17 with Pitingo in the first of the Christmas concerts that are held in the Basilica of Santa María del Mar. In that same space they will also perform from December 18 to 22, Monica Green, Pastora Soler and Maria del Mar Bonet. The Christmas mini-cycle will close with Handel's Messiah on December 23. As of December 27, the Mil·leni Festival moves to the music halls.

Barcelona’s Christmas Festival in Plaça de Catalunya
Plaza de Catalunya, the heart of Barcelona, has become, as usual in recent years, a setting where there will be Christmas activities for all ages. Concerts, shows, workshops and other activities will be held. In the morning, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., it will be the time for workshops, participatory activities and shows for the whole family; The afternoon activities will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a band that offers us festive music and will continue with dance, acrobatics, theater, circus and performance shows. Afterwards, cinema and music will arrive, with an original show that combines cinema and live music, and after or between two film and music sessions, we will meet the voices of five women who understand music from different styles.

Händel's Messiah concert in Barcelona
The oratorio The Messiah by Georg Friedrich Händel will be represented in Barcelona in the Basilica Santa Maria del Mar. Händel composed this work in London in 1741 in only three weeks, and although it is an oratorio associated with Christmas, this work is about all life of Jesus. Performed by the Polifònica de Puig-Reig choir and the Jove Filharmònica Catalana (Joficat), directed by Melani Mestre.
