The New Normal, the slogan or the idea on which the 2019 edition of Primavera Sound floats, flows, rises, falls and rotates. From May 30 to June 1, 2019, the Parc del Fòrum de Barcelona will be the protagonist of an exceptional edition. A turning point. The edition in which everything changes. The parity between men and women, the stylistic eclecticism and the drive, almost an obsession, for the risk to connect with the new times and the new public. And it is not new, it was intuited in the latest editions of Primavera Sound, but this year is final. The new normal. There are 226 names of which more than 50% are women, diversity of musical genres (from extreme metal to reggaeton through pop, hip hop, jazz, electronic experimentation, trap and canonical indie rock), and the more than obvious commitment to renewal.
Antoni Tàpies. Profound Certainty
This exhibition is an extension of the one that was presented, with the same name, in the Antoni Tàpies Foundation several months after its inauguration in 1991. On that occasion nineteen works were gathered and now works not included in the previous edition are added, and a series of bronze and chamotte clay sculptures from the same period. One of the most interesting aspects of "Profound Certainty" is the material that Tàpies used to capture his usual repertoire of images: crosses, glasses, self-portraits, the body, the skull and the bones, chairs, landscapes, letters and figures. The Catalan artist used the synthetic textiles he used to cover and protect the floor of his studio.
The first week of April, with the spring just released, comes a new edition of Zoco Barcelona. A consolidated market that will feature the best exhibitors of fashion, jewelry, accessories ... and a gastronomic space managed by Petit Moll, which will offer healthy and delicious food for breakfast, snacks and lunch, and drinks for the most demanding palates. On Saturday afternoon at 6:30 p.m., the evening will be enlivened by the music group "Los Antonios". They will play well-known songs by all audiences. His specialty: the Catalan rumba. As a curiosity, all the members of the group have had a family or professional relationship with the great master Peret.
The BCN Film Fest focuses on popular films for the general public with special attention to those related to the world of literature and history. This event aims to establish a close relationship with the cultural and popular character of the Diada de Sant Jordi, the most emblematic day of Barcelona. Following this philosophy, the programming of the Official Section is devoted fundamentally to the adaptations of literary works, the productions with historical background and the biographical films about great personalities. The festival opens with the dramatic comedy "Litus" by Dani de la Orden, and closes with the western "The Ballad of Walter Scruggs" by Ethan Coen and Joel Coen.
