A retrospective dedicated to the Canadian artist Michael Snow, a multidisciplinary artist (music, films, video, painting, sculpture, photography, books and facilities) that explores the expressive capacities of sound and images challenging the vision / representation duality . His creative approach requires audience participation, and we suggest to see the object, perceive it and engage in it. The exhibition includes works of his entire career and many are presented for the first time in Europe.
The exhibition includes a screening program, under the title "Michael Snow, Sequences. A Retrospective " and offers a selection of films of the artist. The film Wavelength (1967), an emblematic piece of experimental cinema that reflects on its own language, can be seen in the rooms of The Virreina Centre de la Imatge (projections: 12.30 h and 18 h). The rest of the selection can be seen at the Film Archive of Catalonia (Filmoteca de Catalunya).
