Over the years, Joan Miró reserved drawings and sketches that allowed her to maintain an emotional contact with the narrative thread of his work. These incipient works also served as a tool to review his career and his artistic evolution. Miró, His Most Intimate Legacy, you can discover these works and others that the artist from Barcelona gave to his wife, Pilar Juncosa, to his daughter, Dolors Miró, and to his grandchildren. The exhibition presents about one hundred and eighty pieces that represent practically the entire artistic career of Joan Miró, from 1910 -when Miró was 17 years old- until 1976.
The exhibition invites us to imagine the links between the exhibited works and the vital, cultural and historical moments of the 20th century that Joan Miró and his family witnessed. Miró, His Most Intimate Legacy also highlights the essential role played by Pilar Juncosa and Dolors Miró in the preservation and transmission of the artist's legacy, and pays tribute to the entire Miró family who, with their generosity, have contributed to building the most important collection of the world of Joan Miró's work.
