Casa Amatller, one of the most emblematic modernist buildings in Barcelona, has prepared a very special event to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the opening of its main floor to the public. In 1898, Antoni Amatller, a leading chocolate industrialist, and his daughter Teresa settled in the main floor of this building designed by architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch. Today, 125 years later, the doors of this wonderful house are still open to share with the public the life of the Amatller family in the early twentieth century, and allow visitors to discover the original architecture and furniture from 1900, as well as the history of the Amatller family and their legacy.
For this celebration we have prepared a program of 10 activities with lectures and tours. On Wednesday, March 12, throughout the day you can make visits accompanied by the Asociación Cultural de Recreación Histórica Modernista Luz y Color del 900, with whom we will move to the Barcelona of 1900. From 10:00 to 19:00 h you can visit the house-museum on the main floor, the photographic studio of Antoni Amatller and the old garden of the house, where you can taste the Chocolate Amatller, courtesy of Faborit-Casa Amatller.
