The hit musical The Neverending Story, based on Michael Ende's acclaimed fantasy novel, will open at Barcelona's Teatre Apolo on November 22. This impressive production stands out for its innovative use of animatronics to bring to life creatures such as Fújur, the legendary white dragon of luck, Artax, and the Night Eater.
With 16 songs on its soundtrack, including the iconic theme song "The Neverending Story," The Neverending Story will transport the viewer to a magical world alongside the book's unforgettable characters. To create Fújur, the lucky white dragon, more than 50 meters of specially manufactured plush fabric weighing 600 kilograms were used. The team of 30 people spent more than three months of work to bring the creatures of the Fantasy Kingdom to life, including Caracol de Carreras, the horse Artax, the turtle Vetusta Morla and the Rock Eater. The movements of these creatures are controlled by cables and levers, using a total of 300 meters of brake cable. The musical also features 94 natural hair wigs and more than 200 costume changes.
