The great merit of a soundtrack composer is that his works transcend the big screen (and the small screens, of course), and work perfectly as music without images. This is something that composer Eric Wolfgang Korngold got with his first soundtracks, but who has passed the test by far has been John Williams (Floral Park, New York; February 8, 1932). The other great achievement is that the music evokes in our memory the images and that these evoke the emotions. Although it may be the other way around. And in that, Williams is also a master and you can check it out on January 9 at the Palau de la Música Catalana. May the Force be with you.
