Coldplay is a pop rock band  formed in 1996 in London, first starting out with two band members and the name Pectoratz. After the addition of two more members and a further name change (Starfish), the band was finally named Coldplay in 1998. They realeased three albums that year but it was in 2000, with Yellow that the band achieved worldwide recognition. Since then, they have released 6 studio albums, and they have won various awards, including six BRIT.
