Open since 1997, Can Xurrades restaurant by chef Rafa Martínez is one of the few restaurants in the world that officially and certified beef offer the Raza Sayaguesa. This bovine race is native to the north of Spain and native to the Sayago region of the province of Zamora. The grilled meats at Can Xurrades are cooked with holm oak charcoal and in addition to the beef of the Sayaguesa breed we will find excellent meats from other Spanish breeds. They also offer fish dishes with cod as the protagonist, salads, grilled vegetables (asparagus, mushrooms, artichokes and potatoes), other tasty dishes of Catalan cuisine and a variety of homemade desserts. And for non-carnivores they have vegetarian options.
In Can Xurrades they also offer tapas and dishes to share, and they prepare them very well. Its star tapa: Trinxat de butifarra in beer reduction, with caramelized onions, foie shavings and crunchy cecina. As they say, it is a dish that brings together the passion and effort of more than 20 years. An effort that deserved the Estrella Damm award for the best tapa.
