For two weeks 30 black and white photographs will be presented, showing the work by Emiliano Jatosti about the meaning of “city”, describing three diverse but close places: Barcelona, Berlin and Sarajevo. They are intimately important for the artist as places where he has lived and spent time to research and undergo his sensitivity. The project is divided in two parts: alteration meant as the inside life of each city, sensed by the photographer’s eyes: social alteracions for Barcalona and its suburbs, urban alteration for Berlin and the new architecture that modified itself everyday and historical alteration for Sarajevo and the war tragedies that has faced. The buildings, the monuments are the subject of this tale, of those metaphorical and practical deformations, as mute but eloquent testimonies of the humang presence which is never seen, just perceived. That appears in the second part. People in the three cities are evoked as ghosts, larval existences as inhabitants of this extensive “city” entrapped in the strong contrasting black lines that mark out the artist style.
The openning will be the 8th may at 20:00 h. There will be also a dj set live by the musician dj Cram.
