This exhibition includes 87 works of painting and drawing by more than 78 women artists from 25 countries (United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Spain, Norway, Italy, Ireland, Germany, France, Holland, Russia, Egypt, Mexico, Panama, Venezuela or Chile, among others). This is the third year (and it would have been four if it could have been done in 2020) that the Museum has organized an exhibition to show us the figurative art works of women artists. With Women Painting, the MEAM also aims to encourage future artists to develop their artistic careers in art in general and in figurative art in particular.
Some of the artists exhibiting this year are Froydis Aarseth, Omalix Arlette, Mary Jane Ansell, Teresa Brutcher, Tanya Atanasova, Kamille Corr, Erica Elan Ciganek, or the local artist Miriam Escofet, who in 2019 was commissioned to paint a portrait of the Queen Elizabeth II who was unveiled last year.
