As part of the activities of the OFF Competition, the association of the Barcelona International Music Competition of Barcelona, places grand pianos in various public spaces in Barcelona and other cities in Spain. Pianos, personalized with messages like "Sit down, I'm in your hands", are available to anyone who wants to play them, even if they do not even know how to play the piano. Throughout the day, a facilitator accompanies the piano, whose function is to invite pedestrians to play this instrument.
The dramatic opera Carmen by Georges Bizet, one of the most acclaimed and performed daily in the world, will be in Barcelona from Tuesday, February 26. The performance will be at the Palau de la Música Catalana in different sessions. More than 100 artists come on stage as soloists, choir, children's choir and symphony orchestra.
Special Carnival in which an invasion of costumes, rúa and many more surprises is expected. A musical program to dance non-stop with Sidonie DJ's, Coming Soon, the DJ sets of Much Boogaloo and the resident Tilt! C. Monumental Kids doubles the number of children's activities and adds the concert by Xics'n'Roll Band. The gastronomic proposal will have a total of 12 food trucks.
The 61st edition of the Barcelona-Sitges International Car Rally arrives. A rally where aesthetics is more important than speed. Old cars of emblematic brands such as Rolls Royce, Hispano-Suiza, Citroën, Ford, Fiat, Renault, Peugeot, Buick, Chevrolet or Alcyon, will circulate in the streets of Barcelona in the direction of Sitges. The rally starts at the Plaza de Sant Jaume in Barcelona and continues through the streets of Barcelona, Hospitalet de Llobregat, Cornellà de Llobregat, C-245 road, C-246 road (Costas del Garraf) and ends with a parade through the streets of Sitges and a contest of elegance. The total journey is 40 kilometers and participants come from all over Spain and other countries.
Kosmopolis literature festival, which in its tenth edition maintains the five days, will convert all the CCCB spaces into meeting places for readers with writers of books, scriptwriters, playwrights, musicians and journalists from around the world. With the motto "The stories that move the world", Kosmopolis will revolve around the stories of the 21st century that try to make sense of the world we have created. In the media in general and the digital media in particular, everything is or can be susceptible of becoming a story, that is, in stories, narrations, fictions or short stories. To discuss these stories, will participate Han Kang, Enrique Vila-Matas, Julian Barnes, Mona Eltahawy, Susan Orlean, Gonçalo Tavares, Philip Ball, Laura Bates and Éric Sadin among many others.
